To make instant rava appe first take rava in a bowl, then we have added curd to it as it will bring sourness into the appe & it will also make appe soft, we have to add water & make a smooth batter.
After that we have add some veggies which will make it nutritive & also increase the tasteyness of it, which is followed by green chili paste.

Then Mix well & heat the appe mould and put spoonful of batter in each mould. Generally in appe mould there are 9 moulds. Always Cook from both the sides till it gets golden brown using very little oil.
But make sure that you cook instant rava appam on a mild slow flame otherwise they will get brown from the outside & will be uncooked from inside. You can serve the instant rava appam hot with the coconut chutney immediately after cooking.

- 6 to 8 curry leaves ie, kadi patta
- 4 tsp oil for greasing and cooking
- 1/2 cup of semolina (rava / sooji)
- 1/2 cup of curd (dahi)
- 1 tsp of green chilli paste
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp of oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai )
- 1/4 tsp of hing ie, asafoetida
- 1/4 cup grated carrot
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped capsicum
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped onions
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander or kothimbir (dhania)
Serving – making coconut chutney With Instant Rava Appe
1.For instant rava appe Combine the semolina & curds with approximately 5 tablespoon of water and mixing them well using a whisk.
2. Now Add the carrot, onions, coriander, capsicum, green chilli paste & salt and then mix well. After Keep it aside.
3.In this step heat the oil in a small non-stick pan, and add the mustard seeds & asafoetida and sauté on a medium flame for about 30 sec.
4.Then add it to the semolina-curd mixture & mix it well.
5.First heat the appe mould on a medium flame & grease it properly using ½ tsp of oil.
6.Pour 1 tablespoon of the batter in each mould.
7.Now Cook it using ½ teaspoon of oil till the lower surface becomes golden brown & after then turn each appe upside down using a fork so that it will be cooked from both sides properly.
8.You have to Repeat from steps 5 to 7 to make 21 more appams in 3 more batches.
9. Finally Serve the instant rava appe immediately with coconut chutney.

To make Instant Rava appe
1.Generally, appam can be made using leftover idli & dosa batter. And Quick Vegetable Appam recipe is, something that you can eat appam in no time for a fast South-Indian breakfast very tasty.
2.Instant rava appam recipe or instant vegetable rava appam or South Indian style rava appam and these appam are made in special equipment called as appam mould. You can check our wide collection of recipes using appam mould.
3.For making instant rava appam recipe / South Indian style rava appam / vegetable rava appam you should take fine semolina in deep bowl.
4. Now Add curd to it , Curd will not only provides a sour flavour but also it will softens the semolina quickly.
5.Now Using approxi 5 tablespoon of water and mix it well using a whisk. Always ensure that no lumps are left .
6.Now add a myriad of vegetables like the grated carrot.
7.afterwards add finely chopped capsicum. But you can skip adding vegetables & make plain appam with the traditional South-Indian tempering.
8.In this step add finely chopped onions. Onions not only make the batter colorful & nutritious but, also they provide a nice crunchiness to the appam on cooking it.
9.Finally add coriander & green chilli paste.
10. Now add salt as per taste, mix it well & keep aside. You know that best part about this batter is that it doesn’t require any type of grinding or fermentation.
11. Now heat the oil in a small non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds to it.
12.Once the seeds are crackles then add the hing & curry leaves and sauté it on a medium flame for about 30 seconds.
13.Add the tempering to the semolina curd mixture & mix well. This batter should be having thick pouring consistency. Most of the people add baking soda or fruit salt to the batter but You can add as your wish.
14.Now heat the appam mould on a medium flame & grease it using half tsp of oil. But some followers ask that can we make Instant Rava Appam in idli stand ,the answer is No, you cannot make it in idli stand.
15.Then Pour about 1 tbsp of the batter into each mould.
16.Here cook rava appam using the ½ teaspoon of oil till the lower surface becomes color golden brown.
17.You have to turn each rava appam upside down using a fork so to cook them from the other side also. But Make sure you cook them on a slow flame or they will turn brown from the outside & stay uncooked from inside.
18.Now repeat from step 5 to 7 to make 21 more rava appams in batches.
19.Finally Serve instant rava appam ,South Indian style rava appam immediately with coconut chutney.

I love this appam very much , as they are very tasty to eat. We can found appam in Indian streets in morning at the time of breakfast. This is very famous among the south Indians as it is originated from south india. Appam are round in shape . in the mould of appam we can make 9 appam at a time and more than that in multiple of 3.
Appam has another name as paniyaram in Tamil Nadu & paddu in Karnataka is typically made from a left or remaining idli batter or dosa batter.
You should know that this recipe is a quick version of appam prepared from rava & yoghurt batter. You can also be prepared appam recipe as a lunch box recipe or for childrens in school tiffin box recipe. Adding baking soda also helps appam to remain soft when it comes at the room temperature.
However I will prefer using Eno salt instead of baking soda. Because Eno provides a nice aroma and also adds fluffiness to the appam.
